Boccia and New Age Kurling
Boccia
The game of Boccia is a target sport played by individuals, pairs or teams. It is played with 13 balls (6 red, 6 blue, 1 white). Boccia is a non contact sport, where the game focuses around a target. The balls used are solid but pliable, that has a good rolling quality and is easy to grip. The game is played from a seated position.
New Age Kurling
New Age Kurling is a target game consisting of 4 blue Kurling stones, 4 red kurling stones and a target mat. The aim of the game is for the players to try and get their kurling stones closest to the target.
To date the development of these sports has involved a training workshop in which local leaders of groups have been trained on how to implement these new sports into their service user’s daily activities.
