Cavan Sports Partnership annual grant scheme is now open, which focuses on supporting clubs to develop,  through purchasing sports equipment or starting up a new sports club.

Equipment Grant

Grants up to €300 are available to purchase sports equipment for your sports club or disability sporting group. Applicants will be assessed, and allocation of grants determined having regard for the criteria below.

Please note: If your club has an outstanding grant scheme drawdown process to complete/grant balance to receive relating to an CSP grant scheme, you are not eligible to apply. 

To be eligible sports clubs/groups must:

  • Be based in County Cavan and be affiliated to a Sport Ireland recognised NGB.
  • Have policies and practices that encourage participation regardless of gender, age, race or ability.
  • Sporting Clubs and Disability organisations that provides sporting activities are eligible
  • Where applicable, clubs must have attended, or commit to attending Child Welfare/Safeguarding and Disability Awareness training.

Funding will be released once Cavan Sports Partnership receive 100% receipts. Receipts can be dated from January 2025
Note: Priority may be given to groups who have not received CSP equipment grant in 2023/24
Closing date for receipt of application form is Thursday 29th May 2025 at 5pm
Successful applicants will be notified by email by Thursday 12th June 2025
Projects to be completed by Friday 24th October 2025.

2025 New Start Up Club Grant Support 

Cavan Sports Partnership wish to assist new clubs that are set up in 2025 with funding

Applications will be assessed and allocation of grants determined having regard for the criteria below.

To be eligible sports clubs/groups must:

  • Be based in County Cavan
  • Be affiliated to a Sport Ireland recognised NGB.
  • Have a committee in place and club bank account set-up
  • Have policies and practices that encourage participation regardless of gender, age, race or ability.
  • Where applicable, clubs must have attended, or commit to attending Child Welfare/Safeguarding and Disability Awareness training.

Under this grant a maximum of €300 is available

Closing date for receipt of new club start up grant is Thursday 18th September at 5pm
Successful applicants will be notified by email

In addition to funding, Cavan Sports Partnership provides expert guidance and resources to ensure clubs can thrive. We offer:

  • Training & Workshops – Courses on coaching, governance, safeguarding, and volunteer management.
  • Inclusion & Diversity Support – Helping clubs create welcoming environments for all participants.
  • Networking & Collaboration – Opportunities to connect with other clubs, share best practices, and access mentorship.
  • Marketing & Promotion Assistance – Support in promoting club activities through our platforms.

How to Apply for Funding

Funding applications open at different times throughout the year. Clubs interested in applying should:

  1. Check our website and social media for upcoming funding announcements.
  2. Review the eligibility criteria and application process for each grant.
  3. Submit a detailed application outlining the club’s goals and how the funding will be used.
  4. Attend any required information sessions or workshops related to funding opportunities.

Cavan County Council Community Grants

Cavan County Council provides a range of grants to community groups (includes sports clubs) to assist with actions and projects being undertaken in their local area. These grants are intended to sustain community activity, active citizenship, and promote community enhancement and environmental initiatives.
