Cavan’s ‘Active Communities initiative will kick off in January to encourage people to get active in their community to start 2025.
This 6 Week initiative will take place in 5 different communities across the county, Ballyconnell, Ballyjamesduff, Cavan, Cootehill and Kingscourt. Each area has a timetable of activities, all starting week of January 20th, with over 30 programmes between the locations with activities including Badminton, Basketball, Baton Twirling, Zumba Gold, Swimming, Womens Kickfit soccer and much more.
Registration for the programmes opens Monday 6th January at 9am, below are the activity timetables for each area.

Active Communities initiative will support local areas to be more active using sport and physical to improve health and wellbeing of people in their community. The programme aims to create new opportunities for the community, and encourages people to work together to utilise local people, facilities, and resources. This will provide accessible and cost-effective physical activity opportunities for local people.
